A Kitty Copeland Cape Dress for Halloween

This fabulous 1970's Kitty Copeland dress was £1 from the car boot sale.  I wore it for a night out with a good friend.

It has a two-part 'cape' at the back, which I don't have a good photo of (too much prosecco at this point sorry...).

  2. Love the dress, dear!
As a matter of fact, seeing a picture like this does give it a special feeling - the blurry, somewhat mistique.. :D

    1. Oh Vix, I honestly have about a dozen dresses in my wardrobe that if they were white, they'd be absolutely stunning wedding dresses!! One of them is bizarrely a Holly Willoughby maxi dress that has a very Art Deco feel, I will post a pic soon, but it's purple, so alas not wedding dress suitable. xx

  4. That's a wonderful dress for any occasion, not just Halloween! Vix is right, it would make a lovely wedding dress. You might be able to take a favourite frock to a seamstress and get her to make a pattern from it, so you can have it made in the fabric of your choice for your wedding (though I have no idea about the cost of doing that...) Might that be an option to investigate? xxx

    1. That's a bloomin' good idea, and I just happened to meet a seamstress/designer on the weekend who would be up to the task no doubt. She's pricey, but no harm in asking! She seemed quite knowledgeable about vintage style. Thanks for the idea x

  5. Second hand find of the year right there, sweet gal! I'm smitten with the super full sleeves. I've always had a bit of an inner Stevie Nicks and she comes out for me in garments like this awesome vintage frock. You really, really look sensational in it and I hope your whole Halloween was as fun and fab as your dress!
